IDENTIFICATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

It is absolutely vital for a start-up organization to expedite its product development cycle in order to gain time-to-market advantages. Working as the client's virtual development and testing team, WeSoft successfully helped a Silicon Valley start-up to accelerate its development schedule while maintaining a high level of product quality. This is a telling example of how WeSoft can assist an SMB or start-up to achieve its business target on time and on budget.

Challenge:
The product was designed to extend the Windows management infrastructure into the UNIX world. It provides Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP) support to UNIX systems with log-in support for the UNIX shell and the X Window System. The Company maintained a small in-house group for the development of Linux thus had limited manpower, time and lacked dedicated expertise in the AD environment.

Solution:
WeSoft’s Project Manager spent the necessary time at the client’s office to obtain a detailed brief and collect all the information on the requirements prior to kicking off the development process. Because WeSoft has a proven track record in AD development, we were able to immediately set up a team in both HK and Shenzhen to work on the project in parallel. The team comprised of eight developers, four each for the Windows and Linux platforms.

In addition, WeSoft's QA team was involved in the test process, from test strategy, planning to test execution thus ensuring system quality and functionality.

Result:
We successfully completed the design and development phase of the Windows management tools. From initial product specification through beta testing to final release, project was completed in a record 18 months, well within the customer’s tight schedule.
