WeSoft achieved CMM Level 3
We Software Limited (WeSoft) is proud to announce that the
Company has just been granted a Level 3 rating from the Carnegie
Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute 5 Step
Capability Maturity Model (CMM). The rating was awarded by
Institute for Software Research International (ISRI), who
conducted a comprehensive assessment on software process
practices and improvements for the Company.
Lead Assessor, Mr. Rajarshi Das made the official announcement
on November 25, 2005. Mr. Das stated " I was very impressed by
the WeSoft team, who have put in a lot of effort and attention
to achieve CMM Level 3. It shows that the Company has the
ability to consistently apply software engineering and project
management processes across its projects."
"Software Process Improvement (SPI) is an ongoing effort to
improve our software management and engineering processes." Mr.
Victor Poon, Vice President of WeSoft said, "There is no doubt
that WeSoft will continue the momentum so that we can provide
our customers with higher product quality, faster cycle times,
and lower development costs."
WeSoft has received ISO 9001:2000 since 2000. For continuous
improvement, the Company decided to strengthen its software
development process with CMM and therefore applied the CMM
assessment fund from the Innovation and Technology Commission
(ITC) of Hong Kong SAR government. WeSoft is one of the funded
companies that successfully completed the CMM assessment.
Mr. KT Yung, General Manager (IT Industry Development) of HKPC
stated, “We are very delighted to see WeSoft, as a pioneer in
Global Software Outsourcing Industry in Hong Kong, achieved CMM
with the CMM Assessment Fund granted by Innovation and
Technology Fund of HKSAR Government.” Yung added, “I am also
confident that WeSoft will continue to strive for the highest
level of quality with CMM as well as promoting Hong Kong's
